C. macracantha) v\u00e4linen risteym\u00e4. Se syntyi alunperin Mordenin kokeellisella maatilalla Kanadassa vuonna 1935.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helmiorapihlajan kukat ovat kerrotut ja aluksi valkoiset. Ne muuttuvat v\u00e4hitellen vaaleanpunaisiksi. Nimens\u00e4 lajike on saanut kukannuppujen py\u00f6re\u00e4st\u00e4 helmim\u00e4isyydest\u00e4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lajike muistuttaa jonkin verran ruusuorapihlajaa (C. \u00d7 media &#8217;Paul&#8217;s Scarlet&#8217;). Helmiorapihlajan lehtien liuskat ovat kuitenkin suipommat ja ter\u00e4v\u00e4k\u00e4rkiset.
